Health Visitors
Health visitors are based at Stubley Medical Practice.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Medical Students
These are undergraduates in the last years of their training at The University of Sheffield. They work within the Surgery in order to experience General Practice before they qualify as doctors. They usually stay with us for a 6-week rotation.
We have been very impressed by the quality of their work and their capabilities in general practice.
The reception team will inform you when you book the appointment that you will be seeing a medical student first, who will take details and history from you and then, a GP will accompany them into the appointment to supervise.
If you do not wish a student to be present this will not affect your treatment and inform the reception team when they offer the appointment.
